cheap but looks more expensive. good weight. I haven't had it for decoration or for use during a fire. I took just to keep the cat and now the puppy (60 pound puppy) from pawing out the gravel around gas logs. because it is heavy-ish and protrudes from the opening, I really can't see them knocking over to get in space. as a bonus, it looks nice.
